Are you a maker, artist, engineer, or designer interested in interdisciplinary crossovers?
Then we warmly invite you to this Exploration Meetup where we dive into and dissect and brainstorm the possibilities of textile craft and sound, on Saturday May 10th from 16:00 to 18:00 (+ dinner), with Anneleen Bertels.
Anneleen Bertels is a Belgian textile designer and researcher based in Brussels. For a new research project she explores the relationship between textiles, architecture, and sound, and how these disciplines can influence each other in both the making process and the spatial experience.
She is researching innovative ways to use sound and music as input to create textiles — such as driving a weaving or embroidery machine with sound waves. How can sound generate a physical pattern? How can textiles evoke an architectural experience of sound? These are some of the key questions we will explore during the meetup.
We invite you to join us to dive into her field of expertise and together brainstorming applications, techniques, and possible collaborations. We’ll wrap up the session with dinner, offering a chance to continue the conversation in a more informal setting.
